yes i was going to use artic silver have some left from my last build ive got plenty of room in my case ive got a mini typhoon on my other board right now im just going to up grade to the x48 im just worried about the cpu heat sink because if you look at the dfi factory north bridge heat sink in is pretty tall and might get in the way of some of the larger coolers but i would like to get the best one i can id like to get the zalman 9700 but i know you cant mount it blowing front to back because of the heat pipes interfer with the north bridge heat sink i dont really want it blowing bottom to top thanks for the info Message edited by crazy8s846 on 03-28-2008 at 07:20:32 AM |

A couple people I know are using a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme on their X38s. I ordered one myself to use on a X48 mobo, which I have on order. The Thermalright does a better job than the Tuniq, depending on how much overclock you use. --------------- Evil lurks in the databanks as it lurked in the streets of yesteryear. I just went with the ocz vendetta its got a smaller foot print. The reviews seem pretty good. I want to use the stock north bridge heat sink. Most of the 120mm heat sinks interfere with the north bridge heat sink have not found one that didnt unless you turn them. I wanted mine to exshust out the back not out the power supply. thanks for all the links. |
