Hello,
I just installed a refilled HP27 black cartridge and the printer says its empty.
Four days ago I installed the new version of the HP Printer Suite and remember it said on the screen that it wanted to update the printer. I hope this is not an HP dirty trick to force me to buy one of their expensive cartridges.
I started to remove all the new HP software from my computer, just in case.

What can be done?

Did you remember to take the tape seal off the new cartridge ?

I removed the hard plastic cover from Walgreens, it did not had a tape seal, since it was recycled.

I tried using Ubuntu Linux and it worked like charm. I am going to re-install the HP software.

Thank you anyway!

Some cartridges have an electronic sensor that needs to be reset when the cartridge is refilled -- I think Walgreens should have reset it for you when they refilled the cartridge but may have forgotten. I'd take it back to them and tell them the printer is still saying it is an empty cartridge and they should be able to fix it up.

EDIT : Here is an article that tells you how to reset the sensor on an HP cardridge

Thank you JDFan. I followed the instructions and it worked like its new. But now the Alignment is taking forever. I printed the Alignment page, put it on the glass. Press OK. Time passes and nothing happens, 30 minutes. I turned it off, then on again, it stays in a loop.

Any suggestions?
