Q6600? If your getting that stick with an X38 or P35 motherboard. As for what CPU if you really want the X48 i would keep it with a Q9450 the increased FSB will mean you don't have to stress the motherboard as much when overclocking.

the e8500 has a 1333 fsb thats good i got the team 1300 memory the 800 would worked on a dfi ive read it overclocks to 1240 dont need a quad the only thng i use my computer for is surfing and playing games and they run better on 2 cores ill get a quad next year q9450 is going to be harder to overclock because the mutipler so low waist of money with the nehalem coming out just going to run the e8500 till the nehalem comes out then i can run the 1600 fsb quad even then it might not be needed until the software supports quads no reason to have one also the 45nm is cooler and less volts also overclocks very good q6600 is 65nm runs hot and you cant hardly get it past 3.6 most of the time

If you're only gaming and surfing the net the the E8500 will be quicker anyways most games don't support 4 cores and will be quicker on a dual core.
