More Information

I'm currently playing with a new build and I need some guidance with the FSB and DRAM. I have 1066MHz DDR2 G Skill (2x2Gbs), and a Q6600 OC'd currently to 3.2GHz with an FSB of 400MHz and multiplier of 8. This leaves my FSB:DRAM ratio at 3:4. I was wondering if I should underclock the ram to get 1:1, or what the best way to set this up would be.

Keep the ram at its stock mhz first, then go up from there testing with Prim95.

You can go either way, 1066 or 800 with tighter timings, with little difference in performance. 1066 at 3:4 runs hotter than 800 at 1:1. I would probably go 800 at 1:1 and tighten the timings to reduce the RAM and MCH temp. Just my preference.
