Now for the problem...

The system works perfectly fine until I shut it down for any extended period of time. When I turn it back on the voltage is reset to default 1.2v.. not the setting the setting is still set to 1.35v and the only way to fix this is to reset the cmos and change all the settings back.

As for the voltage being high for an E8400 well.. I got a crap chip thats the lowest I can have it for 3.6ghz... Have also set it to 3.825ghz with 1.45v vdroop to 1.4v and had it running on orthos for 10 hours.

Got the newest bios update?

I have seen this problem on lots of boards, and I have one that routinely does it still, I just save it as a OC profile 1, and when I need to mod it,. I re set the cmos, load from OC profile 1, and mod the settings.

Works great, you get one boot with the new settings, and then it reverts to the standard one.

Kinda lame, but that's what it does!

You can also try taking everything off Auto and manually entering a value. Especially CPU multiplier.

Yes, I have the latest Bios

The settings are not the problem they all stay the same and everything is set manually except the advanced memory settings.

I set the voltage manually to 1.35v then reboot and look at the PC Health Status it shows 1.33v or so and its fine but when I turn off for awhile and boot the voltage is still manually set to 1.35v but the Health Status shows it at 1.2v and I boot into a bsod because of it so I have to open the case and reset the cmos and then the bios settings which is a real pain in the ass.. I have a profile for the OC and it doesnt do anything unless I first reset the cmos.

That blows, I dunno, someone will help!

After the aforementioned BIOS flash, check RadioShack/WalMart/Curciut City/BestBuy ect... for a new CMOS Battery (I have had one fail on me before)

Doubt it has anything to do with the batteries... the setting are not lost the voltage is just reset and unchangeable and its a new mobo just got it like a week ago.

It's more than likely a Bios bug. They will fix it, remember, when you do anything outside of Auto, it's not supposed to technically do it. So lots go wrong! Mention it to the Site, so they know to address the issue if it doesnt get a solution.

My personal favorite so far was that NVidia new Vid card thing.. where if the GPU core got 70c, or whatever, it automatically made the fan REDUCE to 30%, and nothing could over ride it!

If it's such a pain then just leave the machine running 24/7 it will go to sleep and you'll only have to reboot when updating windows!
All my comps are on 24/7 it's actually better for them because the temps are constant. Elctronic devices don't like heating and cooling cycles. They last the longest at a steady normal temp.
