More Information

Hi everyone. I recently bought a Zonet ZSR0104CP, which is a Cable/DSL router. I really don't have much experience with networking and I really have no idea how to set up stuff like NAT and Firewall. I also dont really understand what IP and MAC addresses, DHCP, PPPoE, etc. are. Could someone help me out?

I would check and see if the unit comes with a CD that will automatically set the setting for you. It maybe a bit involving to have to fill certain fields if you dont know how to obtain the information.

what type of broadband service will you be using? Cable? DSL?

DSL usually is setup with PPPoe and you'll need your log into and password to aid with the setup.

Cable is usually set to an automatic DHCP setting.

this could end up a long post... first check and see if it came with a CD, or if the manufacture site has a program to automatically set the setting for you. It would save a lot of time and headache.
