More Information

Well, for starters, lets get what I have to work with out the door.......

E8400 Wolfdale :bounce:
Zalman 9700 NT
EVGA 8800GT
ASUS P5k Pro Mobo
OCZ Reaper DDR2-800
Corsair HX620 PSU
500GB Western Digital AAKS
Thermaltake armor 8000BWS

Gotta say, the E8400 runs like a freakin' champ. Though im worried long term next to the Q6600, gotta say, mighty pleased. The Zalman 9700NT I think was a wonderful choice for a cooler - even though its absolutely huge, its keeping my e8400 right now at 42C. It's not a full copper like the normal 9700, but the auto fan with the NT controller keeps it dead quiet most of the time, and even maxxed out at 2800rpm its reasonable noise wise. The P5k Pro - meh, im beginning to think i cheaped out here - small heatsinks and no SLI. The OCZ reaper ram? With the rebate, its cheaper than XMS2 on newegg, and so far the heat pipes every time I've touched them are cool to the touch. The HX620 - hideously overpriced, but its dead silent and so far is living upto every glowing review I've read of it. The AAKS is quiet but is no Raptor speed wise, the case aw hell.......

Here's my problem - read the guide and so far have upped the FSB to 433 with the 9x multiplier (3.9GHz), with a vCore of 1.25v. I've matched the rams bus speed to match the core SB at stock timings and 2.1v. The 8800GT is untouched. While this system *appears* to run stable and everything, (it'll play like that for hours on Crysis) it shoots craps almost instantly on Prime95.

What else can I do to fine tune it? Even go faster? While I've got the "big" settings adjusted, what else can I do to the other things (northbridge and southbridge, RAM timings besides the first four figures)? Does anyone have a good guide to read, or some outright suggestions on voltages? Is my cheap Ram/Motherboard holding me back?

Any suggesitons- great.
