I have a q6600 processor g0 stepping @ 3.0 ghz

suppose I run it at 38 idle, 45 load, what would be the average lifespan as opposed to having at 2.4 ghz and 5 C less?

If you don't put the voltage to high it will be a good lifespan i hope ;)

You tell me what I do.

no one has the answer.because all of us replace the whole system or at least component before they even die.and i dont think Intel or AMD have the answer too.

but one thing for sure its all depend on the quality.just like some chip will OC higher then the others.and some bad quality one will die on stock with in a year i have seen.so you get what i mean.

so just dont worry watch out for the temp and OC away.

Its impossible to answer...

It could die stock in 2 years, it could run overclocked for 7... who knows?

maybe someone should put on a sticky and say the life span of any component is not guarranteed regardless running at stock of mild OC or very high OC.but extreme OC is guarranteed to die very quickly if leave on 24/7.
