Hi. I have recently been told that I can overclock a QX9770/Dominator 1600 setup to 3.6 by simply changing the cpu multiplier to 9 from 8. Seems reasonable to me, but is this right? They also said might want to up the voltage slightly, but didn't say what that was.

The reason I want to do this is I like the CPU, and I just want 3.6. Would be using probably either a Scythe Ninja Copper or Thermalright 120 Extreme with it.

Yes, as long as the bus speed is at 400
