More Information

I have an Intel X3360 quad core running in an EVGA 790i Ultra MB. Even with five case fans running full speed, the CPU cores idle at 50-52 degrees C and top 65-70 under load with the stock cooler.

I tried to put a Zalman 9500 in there, but the tall heatsinks on the chips around the CPU interferred with the mounting. Also, that type of cooler doesn't put much air over the chips.

As have others, I'm having trouble with random freezing of the system, and it could be heat related.

Would the Blueorb cooler, or one like it that blows air down and through the heatsinks fit onto this MB? Has anyone tried it?

Thanks for any help provided!
