Does this "ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro" fit on a GA 965P-DS3 without a problem with the unit/fan facing the rear of the case. U know, so the fan is blowing the air/heat out of the rear of the case? Not toward the video card or PSU. Thanks.

That heat sink can be mounted in any direction because the 4 pin mounting system is a perfect square.....

 

I see no reason for it not to fit on that board...

I'm using the two together right now with a Q6600, and it works great. It doesn't block access to anything on the board.

This is the third MB I've used it on, and I've never had an issue. I first used it on a P4 Prescott -- if it can cool that, it should be able to cool anything.

Anyone happen to know if this cooler will fit properly on an Abit IP35 Pro board? NB sink appears that it might be in the way, but it's hard to say just picture eyeballing. I should probably go with a Tuniq Tower, but I'm still curious on the AF7P.

I use exactly the same setup and it works a treat. I was a bit nervous at first about using Arctic because prior to buying the Freezer pro 7 I had always used Zalman solutions and had always worked well, but I kept reading good things about the Freezer Pro 7 such as the performance it gave for such as small price.

After a year and half of using it I can say it's everything it's cracked up to be, I've run my Core2 Duo E6400 at 3.04 Ghz now for over year without any problems. If you plan to overclock as well just make sure you have a good fan at the back of case to pull all the hot air out. And as others have said it can be mounted in any direction, I have mine so the fan is facing the front of the case and blows air out the back of the heatsink which is then captured by the rear 120mm fan and blown out the case.

Ditto... My brother has been running an e6300 with an AC Freezer 7 Pro at 3.01ghz for 1.5 yrs with zero thermal issues.

Same here, its all good. Run E6300 And DS3, overclocked to 3.10Gz.
Few skin scrapes when fitting it and bit of a pain to get the last 2 pegs pushed through. IS a bit tight round the northbridge though.


Guys, what temps have you got you pc running at with this setup?
Mines 40c full load, does that seem ok to you?

I can say for a fact that the Freezer pro 7 fits on the Abit IP35 Pro. I have it on mine.
