i got a new Western Digital 500AAC today and it self installs like all new hardware but when i go to my computer to look at it, it isn't there?

go to run -> diskmgmt.msc and look for the new drive there. Then format it from there...

as aziraphale told you ...

go to disk management ( right click on my computer > manage > disk management) and foormat your new disk.. then you would see the disk.

You HAVE to do this. It is very, very, very simple.
Nothing hard about it at all, takes literally 30 seconds.
Disk management, set the disk to active, and quick format.
