Hello!

I have a problem and I hope you can help me!

I have one server Intel S3000AH. There were 2 WD 500 GB Harddrives in RAID1. One of the hdd crashed and the server couldn't boot in RAID mode; both HDDs were in degraded state. The server booted from the good HDD and it worked well(with only one hdd inside) . The rebuilding of the array finalized ok after 20 hours, but the system couldn't boot: "Boot Failure".
I've understud that WD harddrives have an issue with S3000AH motherboards. I've purchased 2 brand new Seagate 500 GB harddrives and tryied to rebuild the array. Rebuild process went ok, but now I have the same problem: every harddrive works fine alone (the system boots into the OS), but in RAID mode i got the "Boot Failure" message. Any ideas how to solve that?

The OS is SBS 2003 R2.

The rebuild opperation from WD to Seagate took about 20 hours.
The rebuild opperation ftom Seagate to Seagate took about 6 hours.

If you have any ideas please post! Thanks in advance!

Alex

Did you check in the BIOS the RAID as bootable?
Did you check to make sure the boot order includes RAID?

Yes, RAID is the first in BIOS boot order.
