More Information

Hi all.
At present I am looking for parts to build a new PC for myself. To give you a small idea of how big the change for me is, I'll tell you that I currently use a GeForce FX 5600 AGP card.

Anyway, as the title suggests, I have three things on my mind, and since I'm not really knowledgeable about computers, I need help.

At present I have the following optical drives:
Samsung DVD-Rom SD-816B
TSST Corp CD/DVDW TS-H552U

And hard drives:
Samsung HD160JJ
WDCWD1600JD-22HBB0

So what I'd like to know is:
1. Do I need to upgrade any of these to get a more up-to-date system?
2. How can I tell what RAID the disks are in. I'm guessing that it's RAID 0, but I would like to be certain.
3. If I want to use RAID 1, is it best to get an additional two hard drives? (I use both hard drives frequently)

Also, if it is of importance, my current plan is to get the following (incomplete list):
2 ATI HD 4850
Asus Rampage Formula or an Asus P5E Deluxe
An Intel P4 E8400
An Antec 900 case

Thanks to all for your help.
