What is the right order to do this, pull an old CDRW/DVDROM combo out for a new CD/DVD read/write.

Should I just shut down, pull the plug, take the old one out and put the new one in?

Or should I unistall the to old CD/DVD combo with hardware remove before shutting it down to pull it out.

Just shut down, pull plug, press power on to get the last charge out of the PSU, take out old drive, look how the jumpers on the back of the drive are set (Cable Select, MAster or SLave), Set new drive accordingly, put in, restart. Should work like that... No drivers to be uninstalled...

OH so its easy. I was making it hard.

The computer will "remove hardware" (old drive) and find and install new hardware automatically?

I don't have to do any clean up? house keeping to remove old drivers or hardware?

Thanks
