Ok, I just received my Western Digital Caviar SE WD5000AAJS hard drive today and I'm getting it partitioned off and I did a format on a little 3 GB partition and it's been 15 minutes and it's still on just 25%. Is that normal or is it absolutely terrible cause that's what I'm thinking. I am formating it so I can put Windows in there and I'm using a regular NTFS file system. Someone please help me out cause I really don't wanna wait to format the whole 500 Gigs of this thing X\

EDIT: 5 mins later it's at 26%

EDIT: Another 5 mins it's at a whopping 27% 8-0

That sounds excessively slow for a 3GB partition. I would let it finish and see if everything looks normal, but there's definitely something not quite right here.

yeah it's been 4 hours and it's only at 86% on the 3 GB partition. I'm getting pretty mad....I'm gonna try to partition and format on a different computer when it's done with what it's doing now.
