I was looking at some cheap 2GB SD cards for around $7 or $8 and what I noticed is they didn't come with the CPRM standard while cards that do cost about $15 as of now.

I don't buy copy protected music so do I really need this standard to have a good card?

I think the cheap ones will do you just fine. The price difference is rather steep... just so you can help MPAA/RIAA protect their content. Seems kinda silly you gotta pay to do that.
