Howdy,

I'm just after some advice

Whats the difference between a switch and a router?

I ask because i want my internet connection split between 4 different computers, 1 of them being playstation 3 so i want some thing that will put me either in a type 1 or type 2 connection so any advice on the matter would be good.

Thank you kindly

Karl

A switch just gives you mutiple network connections while a router uses NAT to provide multiple computers an internet connection.

Get what's ever cheapest. They're all pretty much the same.

I have used Linksys and D-Link Home routers. They include a 4 port switch and wireless so all you need is just the one box.
Most of them have a setup utility on cd that you run when installing it. Follow those directions and you shouldn't have any problems.
