I recently reinstalled Windows and I just noticed that my optical drive no longer works. The button to open the drive does nothing and I have no drive listed in my computer or the device manager. All I know is that the manufacturer is AOpen but all there website has is a manual which isn't any help. I know that it is a combo drive and if it helps at all I could probably open the tower and see if there is anything else listed. Does anybody know of a simple way to have Windows detect this automatically? I've searched for drivers but can't come up with anything. Thanks so much.

If the drawer won't open likely either the power cord loosened up/is not connected, or the drive went to a better place or maybe not depending on what you think about the trash bin

Yes even without drivers the drive should still open when you push the open button. Does the led on the drive's front panel come on when you starrt your pc? Does your PC's BIOS still show the drive?
