More Information

Hi,

I own this Bytecc enclosure, and lately, my tolerance for the cooling fans have lessened, or the fans are getting louder. In any case, does anyone have experience using this enclosure? I've read some reviews that some people get quiet fan, and some get unbearably loud fans.
Now, I've read from from sites that, for single hard drive enclosures, cooling is not really necessary.
I have an old, 30Gb Western Digital from 2001. Would this model create great heat without any fans?
I was thinking maybe disabling the loud 80mm fan and just keep the 40mm exhaust fan. Or maybe it'll be ok with no fans on at all, since the case is all aluminum. It does have a vent on the bottom and rear--maybe this will suffice?
