To resolve this problem, do one of the following:

* Change the NetBIOS name of the workstation. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
298593 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/298593/EN-US/ ) HOW TO: Use the Netdom.exe Utility to Rename a Computer in Windows XP
* Delete the conflicting NetBIOS name in Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS). For more information about WINS, see the Windows 2000 Server Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS) Overview at the following Microsoft Web site:

Do you have a network with multiple computers (perhaps in a home with more than one computer, all connected to the same router for internet access)? The message means that at least two of them have been named the same. Go to control panel, double click system, go to computer name tab and look at the full computer name field. Make sure each computer has a different name in this field. If you find two with the same name, hit change on this screen on one of them and give it a different name. You have to reboot for the change to take effect.

Hello, with help of the "net view" command in Command Prompt window, I was able to determine what were the duplicate name here. It happened that we have a Linux server for some maintenance programs to run, and our colleage created a shared file in it to be able to access from Windows, and the name of sharing was the same name as the GROUP in the Windows workstations, so the message disappeared when we changed the GROUP name in our machines. The complete solution for us will come when our friend comes back from vacation and change the shared name to anything different.
