Fastest for what? I got two drives in my PC and each is better at some things. The PX 810-SA rips DVDs 3 times faster than the LG GSA-H62N, but the LG burns disks faster.

Hey skittle, I was looking at that drive!! I burn tons, and worry my LG is eating it soon.

Would I have problems with the samsung in SATA if I was to reformat and reinstall XP on an A8N-E motherboard? Just worried that it has no native support. Otherwise I'll grab the IDE version for sure.

Im not sure, I have vista installed... but ill try and boot from an XP disk real quick. read the reviews, this thing gives real good quality burns and fast reads.
