More Information

HI, I am not quite new to the IT field and have worked on a few RAID systems myself, but i am finding a strange problem with a older Dell Power Edge 2550 system running a RAID 5 config on a PERC 3 DI controller.

In this system there is 5 drives

first 2 are RAID 1 mirror
the last 3 are RAID 5

The RAID 1 is on a different controller then the RAID 5

here is my problem

The ram for the RAID was replaced with the wrong type, after the older RAM was placed back in the controller only could see 1 container, the RAID 1

When getting windows back up and running and looking in the array manager, the raid 5 has 2 drives offline and 1 as unknown.

In the bios each backplane is setup as RAID, so i see no issues there, have also swaped controllers and still get the same messages on the other controller.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am stumped.

thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Wayne
