Office 2000 says "not expected" when SP-1 installed

Forum Applications : Office Office 2000 says "not expected" when SP-1 installed

Hello,

I had to reformat and do a fresh install on my Windows XP system. System runs great and I re-installed Office 200 fine. But when I tried to run SP-1, the error message came back as

"The expected version of the product was not found on your system"

I first tried to run SP-3 but it would not run.

Any ideas?
Thanks

What happens when you try to run SP3? Did you get it from here http://www.microsoft.com/download/ [...] n&id=14190 ?

You said you are running Office 2000, but you tried to use an Office XP patch. Won't work. Did you check the link in my post above?

Or are you trying to install the Windows XP service packs? In which case you also got the wrong file, you need Windows XP SP3 not Office XP.

So get the Office 2000 service packs not Office XP ones. Just SP3 will work, no need for the others first.
