More Information

I'm looking to OC my CPU a bit, get a few more months at it at the current state before upgrading later in the year.

Specs are as follows:
CPU: AMD Athlon 3200+ (Socket 939)
RAM: 2 (4x 512) GB Kingston DDR RAM
GFX: GeForce 7800 GT
Mobo:Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
HDs: 2, 250 GB in RAID 0
PSU: Enermax 600W
Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Audio Xtreme

My CPU is currently running at (according to CPU-Z):
Voltage: 1.104v
Core speed: fluctuates between 1004.9 ~ 1005.3 MHz
Multiplier: 5.0x
Bus speed: 201.0 MHz
HT Link: See Core speed

My motherboard is running BIOS Revision 1011 (Yeah, I should update, I know.)

Anyways, on to my question. I've read a few strategies for over clocking. I know the basics of over clocking, I'm not looking for a "how-to" guide. What I'm looking for is a "what-to" guide. More specifically, how should I go about incrementing the speeds?

I know I could just as easily start a flame war with this, but I want opinions on the best way to increment in steps, at a safe, trustworthy way. Going 1 MHz at a time sounds painful. So to give you all a baseline, with my computer running Mozilla, CPU-Z and some other minor programs, my temps are at:

CPU: 32 C
MB: 41 C

I can hit mid 40s on the CPU when playing a game like CS, but that's mainly due to the heat inside from my 7800 GT running 1680 x 1050 on a 21" wide screen.

I'm asking for opinions on the best OCing strategies using stock cooling (although recommendations for a new fan and heat sink are welcome. I'll be looking into one soon enough). I'm also wondering what I can get out of this CPU for another year (had it for two now) safely, yet productively.

/rant
