More Information

I just bought the WD ES WDG1SU5000N and it's equipped with ESATA on it. I was looking through the manual and it said that when using ESATA I shouldn't turn it off until my computer is completely turned off. The thing is, is that I never turn off my PC unless it needs to be restarted. Is it OK to leave my external HDD on all the time?

Also I'm going to be playing alot of media right off of the HDD (music and videos). Common sense tells me that it wouldnt put more wear and tear on it vs an internal HDD (same thing but one drive is just in an enclosure). So I just wanted to get some feed back.

Thanks
