Hey guys, been doing some research for a good 2 weeks, trying to get this system hamemred out. I've got pretty much all my components locked in, but I can't help feeling I could do better on the motherboard.

Here's the one I currently have picked out:

http://www.newegg.com/product/prod [...] 6813128012

The thing is, my computer use is extremely straight forward, I only plan on having 2 Sata drives (HD/DVD), 1 pci video card, and some very limited usb peripherals (thumb drive/mp3 player).

I have every intention of overclocking and am planning on the e4300 along with some OCZ gold ram (pc5400).

I chose the board initially because of how well the reviews said it overclocks. I was just wondering if there were any "no-frills" boards around that would meet my needs so I could shave a few bucks off the price. Just looking for a superb Overclocker with all the slots I need (and not much else).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The DS3, although a world class OC'er, is NOTORIOUS for not liking Allendale chips. you will hit a mobo wall of around fsb 370Mhz. Which if fine for the chip OC but limits your 1:1 mem speed. But it doesnt seem to have any problem hitting close to FSB 500MHz on E6XXX xhips. If you can afford a E6300 over the E4300 you should seriously consider it. Also how much is that ram your looking at casue the Crucial Ballistix DDR800 2x1GB 4-4-4-12 is only like $80 after rebate.

Is there some reason you're not considering one of the budget P35 boards? I'd guess that you'd have to pay $20-$40 more. Maybe not even that but I haven't really researched the low end P35 boards for oc'ing ability.
