If you want a wired controller it's simply a matter of downloading the drivers from microsoft. (Available here: Microsoft: Download Gaming Software) For a wireless controller though, you have to buy a usb receiver like this: Microsoft Xbox 360 receiver

actually in windows vista, the xbox 360 controller is automatically recognized!!! just plug it in

yeah, just buy a wired X360 controller, plug it in, and XP (and Vista too, i'd assume) will automatically DL and install the necessary drivers. then its just up to you to configure it in the game controllers section of the control panel.

but if it is a wireless one you got to buy an adapter for 16.99. make sure your xbox 360 is not nearby or it will turn on
