Hello, I own a Trendnet TEW-633GR Wireless-N gaming router. In my gaming computer, I have an Encore ENLWI-N PCI Wireless-N adapter. Before, I would have a connection constantly at 300mbps. However, now it is fluctuating rapidly from around 40-200mbps, and the lag has become very apparent in games and such.

Is there ANYTHING at all that I can do without having to spending money out the butt on new equipment?

Thanks.

If you are using wireless maybe you should check if there's some new network neighbouring which is now interfering with yours.

Download Netstumbler or similar free detection utility. Change channel (ideally 5 stops away).

Also look at relocating cordless phone base/ video sender etc away from computer or router.

I've noticed a new nuisance messing with wireless networking in our neighbourhood -- idiots streaming music via wireless which I detected when checking out some cordless headphones.

No I don't want to listen to your old Fleetwood Mac albums and no Mr Heavy Metal, I'll choose my own music. I just want reliable wireless internet.
