I just did a Windows Update and now cannot connect to the Internet.  The problem is that I Cannot Renew the IP Address.  I ran into this on another machine and turning off Zone Alarm allowed the connection but turning off ZoneAlarm on this machine did not correct the problem.  Thanks

Uninstall the network adapter from device manager, restart pc, reinstall the driver. If no luck, read on.
 
start, run, cmd, enter these:
 
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
ipconfig /flushdns
 
Restart pc. If no luck, post your entire network config.
