More Information

Hello,
Just recently my desktop PC decided to stop working with my wireless connection (it was working fine earlier and I have not changed a THING).

The wireless still says it's 'connected', however when I go to the 'details' tab of the wireless connection, all the forms (IP Address, DNS etc) are all empty! I went and checked the TCP/IP properties and yes it's set to 'Obtain an IP address automatically', as it always has been.

I then put in the details manually and restarted. Checked the TCP/IP properties again and they were all set. However when I went back to the details tab of the wireless connection, it was empty again! It said that there was no IP address even though I put it in directly.

The wireless is working fine on other computers. The computer I'm on now is literally half a meter away from the one having problems.

I'm using a NETGEAR WG311v2 adapter and the most recent available drivers.
Anyone got any ideas as to why it would suddenly stop working and stop assigning an IP address? Also not registering it when I input it manually?

By the way I've tried resetting the router and modem at all ends several times.
Cheers,
Tom.

p.s ipconfig yields:
An internal error has occured: The request is not supported.
Additional information: Unable to query host name.
