Dear friends,

I decided to lay off buying a new graphics card with my computer, because I have an nVidia 7300GS sitting right infront of me, still in it's plastic wrapping. My dad bought it for me, then he realized my current computer is a 7-year old Dell and doesn't even have AGP slots, let alone PCI-Ex. So, my question is, how great is this 7300GS for running high-end games? It's PCI-Ex16 256MB DDR2, so it's not the best card in the world, but better than my GeForce 4 MX440 that I have right now, yeah? Thanks for your help guys.

PS: The reason I want to know is because I need to know if I should say fuck it to this card, and drop my upcoming paycheck on a graphics card, or if this one will suffice. I'm not a hardcore gamer, considering I can't play much past Pong haha, but I'm sure I'll start downlo-- err, legitimately purchasing games to support the hard-working corporations of America.

The old system will not do well with the newer games no matter what VC you have. The minimum card these days would be 7600GT for DX9 games. For the newer DX10 games coming, you will need to have something like a 8600GTS or above. Keep in mind, that most of the new games coming will still support DX9. And, from early reports, DX10 is a minimal upgrade at best.

Not very good for gaming as it's low end graphic card... If you're a light gamer and won't play something like BF2, Quake, etc... it's okay. Well, it might be work for low resolution... what's your screen size?

Most of the time, if you have bigger screen, you'll want to put more resolution on your games...

I'd recommend the 8600GTS. It's a good card, not hardcore but quite powerful.
