More Information

Hi ! I really need some help and advice from anyone who has this wireless adapter and encountering the same problems i have .

short intro
1.I bought this wireless adapter on the 24 nov and started using is on my desktop.http://www.buffalo-asia.com/cgi-bi [...] e=4&id=180
2.Installed the latest necessary drivers and it works.
3. im using vista ultimate with the lastest updates.
4. My desktop is on the second floor and the router is on the first floor. range between router n my room is like less than 8m. Signal strength is always between good n very good even behind close doors.

[u]Problems

1. I started using the provided 2m usb cable with my adapter and it works fine for like almost a day with tons of downloads and video streaming and online gaming then comes the 2nd day, the connection can just go off with no warning only after a few minutes of usage.

2. the worse thing is that i need to restart the system to get the wireless connection again. Windows totally cant detect anything after the disconnection.

3. So i tried using various usb 2 ports i have on my desktop and the same problem occurs yet again.

4. This time i discovered even more weird behaviour. When the connection goes off and when i tried to restart, it hangs! the screen will keep showing shutting down n nothing moves after waiting for a couple of minutes . so i had to turn off the whole comp and restart it.

5. When i finally boot up n enter windows vista, there will be a message poping up showing that comp has recovered from a serious error. i rem the item saying some about " blue screen ". Im really puzzled.

QNS

1. Does the usb cable makes any difference? whether i use the shorter or the longer one
2. Is it something to do with the adapter or the vista ultimate OS ?
3. My other siblings' laptops wireless works fine and if disconnect will connect automatically.
4. Do any other adapters encounter the same problems ?

will welcome any solutions and help ! many tks in advance
