Suppose you just bought a new 20 GB hard drive. You have managed to make the BIOS recognize the drive as its full 20GB, and you are ready to partition and format it. You boot from a Windows 95 startup disk and use FDISK to partition the drive, but it will not let you create partitions larger than 2 GB. What is causing this problem and what can you do to solve it?

I think you must have Windows 95 OSR2 in order to create partitions greater than 2GB. Also, when fdisk runs, you must answer 'yes' to enable large disk support.

tartup disk and use FDISK to partition the drive, but it will not let you create partitions larger than 2 GB. What is causing this problem and what can you do to solve it?

Like Phil already stated, large disk support must be enabled. This should be the only thing restricting the gigabytes of a partition.
