Hi.

A computer at work has the same image as everyone else, but when he clicks a .xls file in Internet Exolorer 6, the "new excel" window comes up for a split second before it closes again. No pop-up blocker is installed.

If he does a "save as" he can open the document fine.

Is there a issue with excel embedded in IE ? What can be a workaround?

If its closing immediately... how we can have an option to "Save As"

I had the same problem and I solved it by disabling the popup blocker in IE.

I hope this will help you.

^He don't have a popup blocker installed.

Upgrade to IE 7, disable the popup blocker and try again. IE6 is a old web browser.

Go into:
Tools > Internet Explorer Options
Click the Security tab
Click Internet
Click the Custom Levels button
Scroll down until you see:
Downloads
Automatic prompting for file downloads
Click the Enable bubble

Or just hold down Ctrl as you click on the file you'd like to open.
