Hey guys,

I use a Safecom SWLPR-5400 wireless PCI network card and Netgear WGR614v6 to connect to my Virgin Media internet connection. I use Vista Ultimate x64 on my computer and there is a wired connection to the other computer in the house which runs XP SP2.

The internet connection seems to work fine downstairs and the router never seems to randomly disconnect (as the connection is stated as being active for several hours etc.) but my wireless doesn't want to work fully. Sometimes the pages takes ages to load or sometimes don't, yet I can continue to download and connect to steam servers and play with a good ping. Then there are times when it just disconnects telling me I have limited or no connectivity.

I have tried numerous fixes including disabling IPv6, the firmware was flashed to the latest months ago and there hasn't been a new one, I've changed the internet security settings, got the latest drivers for the card, communicated with the dead, I really don't know what else I can do to get this to work!!

It worked perfectly when I had XP x64 on the pc! I was on Vista months ago and it worked perfectly but went back to XP for a short time due to compatability problems, which are now sorted but when I leave stuff to download or while I am using it, it just randomly seems to disconnect and its driving me up the wall!!!! Anyone got ANY suggestions?
