I have a new laptop with windows vista. My HP PSC 750 printer is connected to my desktop computer. My desktop is running windows xp. My laptop can not find the printer. Help

Register or log in to remove.

Go to the Printer in XP and share it. Make sure the workgroup names are the SAME on both Vista and XP. The default name on XP is MSHOME. It's different on Vista, though. To change in Vista: go to COmputer, right click it, and then click Properties.

I made the change in workgoup names but that did not work. Anyother ideas?

I made the change but no luck. Anyother ideas?

You need to have two things going... If you have a firewall on your XP machine, it will need to support sharing. Also, on both XP and Vista you need to be able to log on (w/XP, I had to log on to a shared drive first).
