Hello, should have asked before buying :)

I Have purchased the following config. mainly to run design software (Autocad, Revit, Photoshop,..) at varsity.
Any views if it will perform well?

5120MB RAM
750GB HDD
DVD Writer
Integrated Ethernet LAN and 802.11n WLAN
Integrated bluetooth 3.0, memory card reader and webcam,
Nvidia GeForce GT 540M 2GB
15.6" display

From my years working in a GIS shop, graphics card capability, frontside bus speed, and hard drive read/write speeds are what really make a difference; then comes RAM and its latency and CPU -- yeah, you should have asked -- cores do not matter as much as the combo of MHz and cache in a CPU. A real workstation running multiple grahics-hungry programs at once on a network will be best served by dual-processor mobo and high RPM hdd(s) and probably more than one high-end GPU with 8 or more GBs of RAM. In toto, it depends . . .
