I just bought a AMD 3.6 ghz quad core cpu upgrading from a anthlon x2 64 6000+ i was wondering if this would help me a lot in graphics on BF3 here are my other specs:

radeon 6790 HD 1gb 256bit gddr5
4gb ddr2 800
550 watt psu OCZ
m2n sli deluxe Motherboard

i was also wondering if a AM3+ cpu would fit in a AM2 socket

Thanks

Your motherboard will not support AM3+. You are in a tough spot I think if you got to 8 gigabytes that would be the best upgrade you could get with your current setup. However, if you were to upgrade being someone who has been a AMD fanboy back in the day of socket 939 I'd go with sandy bridge or wait for ivy bridge coming up soon.

I'll break it down for you for battlefield 3.

Graphics card: high settings capable
ram: low/medium settings capable
CPU: low/medium settings capable
