As stated by PSYCHoHoLiC, the ATI 2900XT (comparable to 8800GTX) launch is supposed to be April 22. The next nVidia cards (I assume you mean high end, the 8600s are apparently already leaking out at retailers) will supposedly come in response to the ATI cards, and the ATI 2900XTX is supposedly going to launch in June. These are all rumors and speculation, so take them accordingly.

If you don't care about SLI or Crossfire, look at an Intel P965 based board. The Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 overclocks very well and is nicely priced at about $123.

R600 cards will be launched April 23rd and purchasable late May. Expect to pay a $100-$150 premium over MSRP for a few months. 8800GTX should drop to $450 soon after R600 launch, they are $536 right now. nVidia G90 will drop sometime in fall and obliterate R600.
