Forum Opinions and Experiences : Computer Shops Recycling

Word :    Username :

As a community service our repair shop wants to start accepting electronics for responsible disposal. This effort is not for-profit, but we also don't want to lose money on it. The goal is to do our part to keep electronics out of the landfills and curb cadmium poisoning in China, by recycling locally.

There seem to be a lot of governmental restrictions in regards to remanufacturing. One thought had been to refurb computers for donation to various community causes. Would you call that remanufacturing?

Anyone have any experience/advice in this type of project?
