More Information

Hi all,

Just purchased a Packard Bell laptop running XP Home SP2, and im trying to use a 802.11b Wireless LAN PC Card to connect to my current broadband connection which works fine.

I had to assigned an IP address, Subnet mask and Default gateway as obtaining an ip address automatically wasnt working. Doing this i managed to get connected wirelessly but still cant access the internet, so far 30,000 packets have been sent and 0 have been recieved.

I've spent several hours looking through the net to no avail.

So far i've tried ping 127.0.0.1 and this works fine. I also tried ipconfig /renew and got the msg: No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has media disconnected.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
