Laptop dead

I had an authority virus but didn't know it was a virus. System had been flagged by microsoft as non geniune. so bought new dell brand windows xp disc but it won't load. could the virus still be somewhere else in the laptop. also used a killdisc to clear laptop before installing new system.

You might like to ask a Mod (if you can find one in here ) to move this to the Laptops Board for more contributions but when did it fail to load and how did it tell you it had?

Step 1: insert laptop into high temperature smelting furnace for complete virus removal and sterilisation.

Step 2: Purchase new laptop.
