I enjoy getting your newsletter, but I checked not interested because I already receive it. I was surprised when I tried to log in, but was refused and told my email address is not in your data base. Is your newsletter mailing list different than your login list?

It can be. If you are logged in, you should be able to edit whether or not you want to receive the newsletter from your personal profile settings.
