Since win98 defrag option has been a part of windows , every tech site worth its name has recommended it as the fool proof way to get better performance.
i would like Toms to do an article on Defragmentation.
1. does it really work?
2. is it needed for modern HDD's?
3. is it needed for NTFS?
4. Drive size matters?
5.how bad does fragmentation really get and does it seriously affect performance so you would notice a change?
6. a comparison of various inbuilt and commercial and free defrag softwares.
