Hi Tom's team,

I'm guessing you already have plans for this, but just in case you didn't, can you make write an article benchmarking the upcoming Battlefield 3 beta. I know a lot of pc gamers are planning to upgrade their systems to play this game, but a lot are not willing to SLI/Crossfire the highest tier cards just to max it.

Can you benchmark this game at different graphical settings and give recommendations for gpus and maybe cpus to achieve playable framerates for each setting?

Also, it might help to add a comparison of the graphics settings (screenshots, qualitative assessment and descriptions, etc.), so that people might get an idea on what they compromise on with their upgrades.

Thanks and more power .

Everything maxed I get 65-95 FPS @ 1920x1080. It looks like there is still a lot of polishing to be done. Vsync states enabled but not working.

Outdoors i get around 30fps with everything maxed and around 35fps in everything in low, i think this is wierd as hell... I've downloaded the last drivers and the same ***. I'll reinstall my windows because playing battlefield bc2 i got a lot of Blue screens of death and maybe something is wrong, but i don't think it because im running crisis in 60 fps all extreme dx11 and high res texture pack. My specs are:

i5 2500k (4,1 Ghz whit turbo boost)

Sapphire radeon hd 6950 1gb GDDR5

8 GB G.Skill Sniper 1866

Crazy *** man!

AMD just announced the preview driver 11.10, you should try that out before you start digging to hard. Also keep in mind that this is still a beta and may have issues with one brand or type of GPU compared to another.

If you are going to state youre FPS, include the RES you are playing at, and the level of AA/AF

We're keeping an eye on BF3, guys. When it gets to the point where I can create a full feature with accurate frame rate comparisons like I did for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, I'll make sure we present you with the full performance picture. Until then, playing on multiplayer servers, running around with highly variable frame rates, doesn't paint a very clear picture of how the final game will run.

All the best,
Chris

From the big wig himself, very nice. Thanks for the info Cangelini. Can i have a pc? Just joking.

I've read ultra settings are not working in beta so the highest settings we are getting is high, even though set on ultra. Ultra won't be available until game release.

Wow! I feel honored that Chris Angelini himself graced my thread. Nice to see him interacting in forums.

I'll be waiting for the feature before I upgrade. Thanks!

System Specs :
CPU : I5 760 @4.2GHZ
RAM : 4GIG @ 1600MHZ

I got around 39 fps outside with a GTX 560 TI OC at 1015/2400 in in the metro station it's almost 60fps with vsync on (D3Doerrider) not the VSYNG in game cause it's not working in beta.

and 49 fps with 6790 Xfire @ 950/1150

Settings on ULTRA 1920x1080 4xMSAA 16xAF HBAO on

I thought the settings were like BC2, you can change and apply while you're playing, WRONG. You need to set on HIGH (Example) and restart the game for the settings to apply properly, else you'll stay at ULTRA if u were on ULTRA.

Hope the improve the drivers because this game is a beast to run ..... I mean even on high settings I drop outside to 45 48 fps, I alosi try to turn off HBAO and turn off AA, put everything on ULTRA, outside I get 55 sometimes drop to 50 but still HBAO is OFF damn I thought it would make a bigger gap in FPS.

its been acknowledged that ultra does not work at the moment, i'm starting to suspect that some of the others might not either, but officially ultra does nothing right now.
