Currently working in the Bournemouth area...
After being passed my 5th fake Pound Coin in recent weeks :cry: , I was wondering if other parts of the country are having the same problems with the damn things?

That's a new one on me here in beautiful downtown Newport Pagnell. Maybe some misguided individual is filing down £2 coins to make these dubious forgeries. I have been given a fairly convincing supermarket trolley disc which could be a prime candidate if the colouration could be perfected.

Still nothing compared to the percentage of US currency that is estimated to be forged. In Russia it's estimated to be 80% of all US currency held in the nation.

I'm still searching for the official figures but there have been known cases where $50b worth of notes are thought to have been produced by a single operation.

We have a glut of fake R200 notes floating around here in South Africa.

I think this problem will not ever go away, not even after we have transitioned on to digital currency - assuming the world reserve banks permit it...
