How about an article on OS's like linux, unix, Sun, vs. Windows systems. Something that just talks basics about all of them. Im only familiar with C programming and windows so i am an os noob. Seeing as how there are many versions of these other OS's and many for free, I would definitely like to see an article discussing their pros/cons etc. Thoughts?

also perhaps a comparison of the OSes by running the same benchmarks
on a standard test machine to compare

especially when the new Service Packs come out for XP and Vista

wouldn't it be a hoot to see how the same game runs on W2K XPSp3 and Vista pre and post SP then run the same benchmark/game on a Linux and MacOS installation via emulation?

now that should knock some fruit off the tree!!

Via emulation? that would count on the efficiency of the emulator more than anything else. Most current emulators cannot play games or cannot run them very well. what would be a more relevant benchmark would be a native cross-platform program such as Apache HTTP.
