Is there a way to force users through a proxy filter without putting
the setting in their internet explorer options?

I work in a library system and I have to filter out porno, ect..
through a proxy server for any PC that the public uses. I have been
doing this by adding the proxy settings to internet explorer. The user
can not chnage the settings because I set a key in the registry that
won't allow them.

I am adding a wireless access point (Linksys WAP55AG) that is going to
give wireless access to the general public with their own laptops. Is
there a way to force them through the proxy?
Thx for any help...

Yes. You can by a firewall that forces all HTTP traffic to redirect to a
proxy server. Sonicwall firewalls will do this.

the general term is "transparent proxy"

there are lots of ways of implementing this - e.g. a cisco router can
selectively divert HTTP sessions using WCCP and push them to a cache.
