Ive got an xp2000 im looking to overclock. Did you have to mess about with the L1 bridge on the old xp's?

My mobo is an epox 8k3a+

if it is before they where locked you can use wire in the socket :)

worked to get my XP 1800 to 1.93 back in the day....i did not have to cut anything to up the voltage from 1.5(1.45) to 1.8(1.79)

EDIT....

Make sure that not a palomino core(it will work but will be REAL hot)

little bits of wire? around the pins? not sure im comfortable doing that. I dont mind connecting the dots on the L1 bridge that ive read someplace.

Just used some program called rightmark. Says its a palomino peice of shite, so dont think ill try ocing.

Still, ive bought 3 quite aska case fans and an Arctic Cooling Copper Silent 2l so atleast ill be able to hear myself think (my volcano 7cu+ sounds like a hover).

i used the wire(a little u shaped one connecting in the socket...easy to undo..)

You can still get a bit...but it may not be worth it on that core....

good old 1800 to 2000... got it to 1.93(1.53 stock) with muti and fsb....it still runs to this day
